The PO.DAAC OceanESIP Tool (POET) provides on-line access and subsetting of many of PO.DAAC's data products. Plots and data subsets are generated on-the-fly and returned directly to your browser. This enables you to interactively view sea surface fields without the need to download entire files.

How to use POET:
Make your selections on the form below, then press "Submit Request" button. If you are reaching this interface from a dial-up modem: please be patient while the interface initially loads... this may take at least one minute.

Options:
Press Help for assistance in selecting options. Format options include: images (i.e. GIF, PNG, JPG), scientific (i.e. NetCDF, HDF), GIS (i.e. GeoTIFF, ArcGrid), raw (binary, ASCII), or movie (MPEG). Please examine the Format drop-down list in the Output panel for a comprehensive list.

Size Limitations:
POET is currently an interactive on-line system only - large data requests will cause your browser to "time-out" while waiting for the request to complete. You may break down your request into several smaller ones.

System Requirements :
Your browser must allow pop-up windows and it must be Java (1.5+)- and Javascript-enabled.

Web Mapping Service (WMS) :
POET provides a WMS interface that is a quick method of visualizing subsets of PO.DAAC data from a standard browser or from a WMS-compatible viewer. For more information, visit the POET WMS page.
